Let’s hope so. The much delayed and anticipated, to put it mildly on both accounts, fifth incarnation of Gran Turismo is finally due out November 2, 2010. It’s a Playstation exclusive if that’s not already obvious. The game will boast 950+ cars, over 20 tracks, online play, WRC, NASCAR, F1, GT2 and everything else you’ve come to love from the game – including the addition of vehicle damage (Finally, button mashers can’t win by slamming through corners and hitting people!). Most importantly, though – The Stig (!) and Top Gear’s track! I also hear people talking about the ‘rivalry’ with XBox’s Forza series. Let me be clear that there are no competitors to this series. Comparing Forza to GT is like comparing a McDonald’s cheeseburger to a filet mignon. Forza is a fun game for sure, but more along the lines of Need For Speed or the Test Drive games. This game has A LOT to live up to and if the history of the series is any indication, people will forget about the years of delays very, very quickly. Here’s the ridiculously gorgeous trailer from E3 a few days ago:
